  • You guys should do yourselves a favour and try Soldier9's Realism Mod (now called Experience WW2). So tasty. Much better sound, grenades don't do shit against armour, but panzerfaust and bazookas take care of them nicely. Also, jeeps carry 4 people and don't take nearly as much damage when just driving over bumps. Still has some balancing issues, but what early release beta mods don't. Also, the few servers playing it attract people who want to win maps, not plane camp for the most part.

DC is nice, but awfully balanced, and has a terrible fanbase (think CS just marginally less whiny). Also, there's way too much vehicle camping, and certain vehicles (apache esp.) are just impossible to kill without proper AA or a well-timed tank shot.

  • I think it's worth it. Properly DEVELOPED additions, not the rogue desert combat short attention style of add everything you can think of for total chaos....

BF1942 is a great foundation to expand on... but after this one, I hope they release some control to the community.

I'll be purchasing it. The Road to Rome expansion pack was some maps, I bet people think that was a rip off, so this time they are going all out. It will be worth it simply by comparison, and even more so based on content. Gameplay will get more fun, and we'll have to closely eye some of these new vehicles... wouldn't want the enemy to get them!!! hehe

I wonder if DC would get better with the SDK? Or is it too far into free for all style of development?
