Enter The Matrix x 4 Million
by Maarten Goldstein, May 06, 2003 8:05am PDTInfogrames' Atari label has announced it wil ship more than four million copies of Enter the Matrix to retail outlets worldwide to meet retail demand. It's the largest initial shipment ever for the publisher, though of course it remains to be seen if people really are looking forward to the game this much. The game will go on sale May 15, when the Matrix Reloaded movie opens.

Games based off of movies suck and movies based off of games suck.

I hope Infogrames loses a lot of money because of that. When they go to figure out why they lost so much money, the answer will be obvious.. Who the hell wants a 6 disc game? Nobody.
Yes, I am talking about the PC version. The PC version is the only one worth a damn anyway to me.
The sad part is it doesn't cost THAT much to make it into a DVD, they are just a bunch of marketing fucks that say "OH NOBODY HAS A DVD PLAYER WE MUST TRY TO TARGET THE MOST PEOPLE AND RELEASE IT TO ALL 3 CONSOLES AS WELL"..
What is the deal with all these companies trying to release game on 4 platforms (some even 5) and expect to make money?
I think Infogrames is too confident in this game.

Vivendi shipped 4.5 million copies of Warcraft III only for the PC last July. It took them about 3 weeks to sell one million to customers. So it would seem this isn't that big of a release...

Then again, as noted by another distinguished poster, they might just sell out even if the game is shite in a box.
