According to this CNET story, AMD will be releasing their XP 3200+ CPU soon. Besides the CPU Mhz increase, the front side bus speed will go from 333mhz to 400mhz. Intel's already at a 800mhz FSB though, and it's expected they'll release a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 soon.

It is also worth mentioning that I read on a HardOCP linked story that if you plan on using this new 400Mhz chip on an Asus Nforce2 it must be a Ver 2 board not a 1.xx

so last time i said something to the effect of "damn, AMD is losing it..im switching to this new 800Mhz FSB bla bla bla" I got blasted.

So what's the deal these days? I quit keeping up with hardware ins/outs about 2 years ago. Is a combo AMD 400FSB chip / nForce 2 rev 2 setup just as good (and cheaper) than the new Intel 800FSB chips/boards ??
