Lord of the Screenshots

GameSpot has posted five screenshots from War of the Ring, the Lord of the Rings strategy game in development at Liquid Entertainment. Vivendi Universal Games will publish this game in the first quarter of 2004.

There was an RTS (War of the Ring) and a MMP (Middle-Earth Online) over at Sierra several years ago (pre-movie release). Both were cancelled (hope whoever made that bright decision is sleeping in the gutter now).

AFAIK the MMP went: Sierra in-house, laid off for being too innovative.... then some place in San Fran (3D MMP?), took Sierra to court for breaking payment contract.... now it's being made by the Asheron Call's folk in Boston. Making Microsoft the publisher now?

So, is Half-Life 2 being published by Activision? Does that mean Sierra really bites ass now, with no bread winners?
