EVE Online Gone Gold

Simon & Schuster Interactive let us know that CCP's space MMORPG EVE Online has gone gold (some screenshots can be found here). The game will ship to U.S. and European stores next month. People who beta tested the game are now free to talk about it as well. To celebrate the going gold news, there will be an IRC chat tonight at 4PM CST in #eve-online on the stratics.frws.com server. Producer Mike Wallis is attending.

im really trying to like this game, just got a new ship in beta last night but...god its more like a job then a game =( seriously needs some help explaining how to play and has all kinds of arcane hidden features that werent explained in the toutorial (allthough the new toutorial was a huge improvment)
theres kinda 2 groups of people, the ones that got help from some early testers and are in some corporation that got hand fed ships and getting mass money, and the people who are trying to figure out what to do, and making pennies in comparison.
i'd prolly love this game if i could figure it out but with the info they give you in the beginning im pretty much lost =\

AC1 still holds the crown for the most complete MMORPG at the ship date. It wasn't even that complete, but it still had 500% more content than anything else... EVEN TODAY.

People need to put some fucking effort into these games. See Metroid Prime if you want a good defination of EFFORT. Or ultima 7, if you want to compare RPGs to RPGs.

(for laughable launches, see AC2, AO, EQ, SB, and DAOC*)

* at least daoc's servers were stable at launch
