Lords of EverQuest Announced

The game is described as "a real-time strategy game that combines the rich content of the legendary EverQuest (RPG) universe with never-before-seen features in a real-time strategy game", and will feature 3 singleplayer campaigns as well as multiplayer support. The website offers a FAQ, screenshots and a producer's letter.
Featuring three different unique factions to battle and a beautiful game world filled with breathtaking environments, you are able to command troops comprised of Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Fiends and even Dragons! Your role is to take command of one of 16 Lords from the dawn of Norrath and lead an army of hundreds against your enemies in a race to claim a lost artifact.Lords of Everquest is scheduled for a fourth quarter 2003 release.

Less units, but let them advance much more. Use places you can control and object you can obtain to allow further advancement and strategy options. You could be assembling parties more than armies. The numerous class roles and how they tie together could be pretty cool. Warrior and ShadowKnight meat shields, clerics to heal, shamans to slow and poison, wizards to nuke, mages to summon weird but cool elementals, enchanters and bards to make existing units better, etc etc.
It sounds good to me... the idea, at least. We will see if it executes well.
