Serious Sam fansite Seriously! has posted some screenshots and info on Nitro Family, a first person shooter in development at Delphi Eye Entertainment using the Serious Sam engine. There is also a video available, and word that more from this game will be shown at E3.

Well shoot me if I'm wrong, but that whole game just looks like a late April fools joke... the description from the press release is like if someone tried to describe Duke Nukem 3D to appeal to some kind of new-age gamer or something. And the graphics... ehh... somehow reminds me of N64 Goldeneye but in high resolution (not a good thing!) And howabout that really awful texture alignment work in the striped cloth awnings in the market?

I think I speak for a lot of gamers when I say that this need that developers think we have for an arcade-style shooter is highly exaggerated if not nonexistent.

And is the only opponent a stereotypical-looking mexican guy??? Wow, I'm impressed! That certainly embodies love and violence and beauty...

I'm jaded.

The Serious Engine has HUGE potential...why is everything that its being used for look lke junk? Thanks god for Alpha Black Zero.

I think the Serious Sam engine has massive potential for all kinds of games... You could reneder a crowded mall with it no sweat, and it runs fast! Oy, I like silly action, but I DLed the movie and it really just looks like a mod, not a retail project.

Although, if it sells for $19.95 like Sam did, it might be worth picking up to play wiht over a weekend.
