PB is a small price for a good game experience. Got PB problems? - goto PB site - read it - a basic understanding is all you need. Also when you load your game, give it a half minute to scan your rig, and stabilize. You can also adjust a setting to minimize how often you are scanned - see website. There are other benefits too - read it.
PB is only as good as the Server Admin who sets it up. Gaming will get good when the cvar controls include restriction on "speed" settings like picmip 3,4,5 that reduce a pretty grafx scene to a cardboard marshmallow fuzzy mess that plays fast but reduces the game to a pile of hyperactive reactions. If the gamegodz wrote a game like that, you would not play it. If we all play in good grafx, it levels the playing field. This color stripping and grafx stripping is borderline cheating, for the purpose of winning by advantage - the ping issues are bad enough. If you really are a superior player, then do it in color, not in a what looks like a 1994 dos game.
I hate cheats. But I hate other stuff that spells out L A M E - it's advantage, secret advantage - nobody talks about it - and that's what a real cheat is like - silent sleez in the dark.
Truly good players will talk about their trix and offer to help others - if you can't talk, then you are running a lie, you are a punk, and a cheat - and that's sad - cos you don't have to live like that. This a game, an escape into virtual reality - but it always comes back to you gotta live with you. And if sux to be you, you made that bed, so lie in it, or clean it.

What hacks are there for this game? I could look but I'm lazy. In game I heard of aimbots and thats about it. Anything else?

oh you poor bastards who play AA. pnkbuster is basically totally ineffective in quake 3. the only thing it's good for is catching cvar violations, i still see cheaters almost any day i play the game.

PB isn't all that bad. It has issues, but they do get sorted out, even more so when more games utilize it. I think this is a good thing (TM).

Wouldnt they be better off to look towards the guys who did CSHP and UTPure since it is the same engine? The lead of CHSP was hired into Epic. But some others still update UTpure.
