Deus Ex 2 Preview

Had enough of all the Deus Ex 2 coverage lately? No? Well good, because Computer & Video Games is the latest with a preview of the game. There are hands-on impressions, and quotes from several of the ION Storm developers. The preview offers info on the storyline, the nano-technology upgrade changes, the various locations, the improved graphics and gameplay among other things.

That site gives me a headache: Complex background image, fucking annoying auto-loading frames, blinking ads up and down every side, content is squished into a terrible width and position. Bah. I'm rewriting "Computer & Video Games" requests through my proxy, so I won't be fooled into going to that shitheap.

I loved Deus Ex I and played it through several times and I like everything I'm hearing about this game apart from the graphics ... man they look rough, horribley harsh lighting, chunky level geometry and the texturing is positively amateurish in places. In one screenshot (a SUPAR-secrat lab), there's a speaker cone or some other electronic gewgaw mapped onto a wall for no apparent reason.

There seems to be no subtlety or finesse in the graphics of this game, do you think they've seen what those Ukrainian guys are up to?
