Am I the only one here that believes this game will fall quite flat on its face? Most FPS games I play with are adamant against the idea of YALMF (Yet Anonther Low Monthly Fee). The people that play EQ are a different breed than hardcore FPS fans: their money spent is a lot of exp gained, money gained, etc. For most FPS fans, we want in for an hour or two at a time (sometimes less, usually more), not the considerable amount of hours that EQ needs to get any level of reward. I'll hold onto this belief until there is some beta we can all touch. Who knows, it may not stink, but I'm hedging my bets now (takers in Vegas? There has to be some form of game gambling in Vegas for potential hits/stinkers).

I'm confused by the "I haven't played this game but it sure sucks because the graphics got worse" comments. They're still decent IMHO, and wtf does that have to do with whether it will suck or not anyway? I had some of the most fun I've ever had in a while with a text based online game (www.midnitechallenge.com, kinda like drug war games but with cars).

I'm not expecting a GRAPHICS game here. I'm expecting a FPS with HUGE battles, with vehicules and ongoing world where my PC can evolve.

And finally I want it to run smooth, so next generation GFX are out of the question for this game.

Anyways, counter-cheat has 5 year old GFX and it is 5-6x more popular than its closest competitor.

If they want to get people excited about this game they should stop releasing screenshots. also note to sony:

PEOPLE NOTICE WHEN THE SCREENSHOTS LOOK WORSE 2 MONTHS BEFORE RELEASE.

One word for all those complaining about the sudden drop in detail in the recent screenshots. "Scalability" As a MOG developer you have to design the technology/renderer for the far future from the begining instead of designing it for a one shot release product. With at times 500-700 active models plus scenery to render its no surprise that they have scaled back the detail. At there current market release date, systems as they are just can't handle that at their original detail (or there is no viable way to predict that they would). Besides the point graphics != great game (although this is akin to saying looks don't matter when dating...heh).

I think when they started the hype machine they built small detailed environments but then their publishers realized they could make more money if they make a half-ass game and sell it so that's what happened to this game and that's what happens to most games.
