Evening Reading
by Steve Gibson, Mar 22, 2003 5:01pm PSTSaturday is pretty hip yes? Futzing around with some hard drive shuffling and remembering just how much I hate re-installing Windows. I hate it.. it makes me cry. :( But ER.. that makes me giggle with joy!

The millions of people who use caffeine on a daily (even hourly) basis.
The millions of people who use nicotine on a daily (even hourly) basis.
Alcoholics. (Corporate victims.)
People who are morbidly obese. (More corporate victims.)
People who are literally addicted to antidepressants. (Even more corporate victims.)
Parents who will fill their kids mouths with any pill that is on their doctors 'prescribe this drug 10 times a week get a $10000 bonus' list.
And finally, anyone who is 'anti-cannabis' is not allowed to use the term 'pothead' simply because the 'anti-cannabis' crowd has no idea. Cannabis prohibition is an absolute joke. The drug war is a joke. The people fooled into thinking their 'white' america is threatented by Iraq are the same people that fear cannabis will also destroy America.
Being a pothead is a good thing.

It's time for cords to go the way of the dodo and wireless to become standard. Put a rechargeable lithium-ion battery in the controllers with a port directly on the system for them to connect to. No more controller communications plugs, instead just a receiver for the signal to feed into, non-visible if at all possible. Just register your controller's unique signature with the console for the port you want it to be used for.

It is only your interpretation of what is not only your agreement.
It is effectively the same as "making up the rules as we go".
I think it's since Bush senior that there's the notion that "voluntary self-regulation" is somehow valid.
It just facilitates free reign for the big players under the pretense of democratic process.
Mark my words: civilians will never get voluntary self-regulation.
This thing is much bigger than the war.

I'm wondering if the damn thing really is all its cracked up to be. Is the backlight nice? How 'bout the size? Is it so tiny that it cramps your hands? I'm only asking because I have yet to see one of these things in action.

Friend's birthday, so we all gussied up a little (I wore a mock turtleneck! I am soooo clahssic.) and wandered downtown to Fogo de Chao (http://www.fogodechao.com) and gorged ourselves for like, an hour or so. For the Chicago peeps (and I guess they have restaurants in Texas and Atlanta), this is so totally a must-eat-at. Expensive ($65/head when all was said and done with drinks and desserts), but good God, they wander around with giant skewers of meat and give you perfectly prepared meat for as long as you can eat. I've TRAINED for this restaurant. It was beautiful. It was perfection. It was God. And Oprah was there!
Then we all loaded up and went over to etc. for Curious George Goes To War, and that was as funny as always. New show on the main stage (entitled, No, Seriously, We're All Going To Die) right after we get back from Brazil, which just coincidentally is the week of my brother-in-law's birthday, so that will be another rockin' evening just as soon as we decide where to go for dinner.
