Mistmare Demo

Well here's something for you guys to play around with today. A new RPG demo has hit the net outa nowhere. Mistmare from Arxel Tribe. The demo is pretty hefty at 278megs, but hey if you like RPGs you're used to waiting around a lot staring at a screen right!? Download the demo @ FileShack

[Download Mistmare Demo] If you're not so keen on such a huge download you might wanna just check out a couple of the gameplay movies that are quite a bit smaller.

wow, the control of this game DOES suck. You basically are in a 3rd person or 1st person viewpoint, and you have to right click to get places. It's not straight line though, they have some REALLY CRAPPY pathfinding enabled. So you click a spot 10 ft in front of you, with ZERO obstacles in the way, and the character turns to the left, moves to steps, spins backwards, takes a step, then turns around and runs to the spot you clicked.

It's very awkward and it's very awful. What in the hell were they thinking?

Ya know, I always figured if I developed a game I wouldn't tell anyone anything about it until I released it. Sure, the game doesn't get any pre-release hype, but it doesn't get flak either, and if it gets delayed a hundred times, no one dumps on that either.

So here we have a game with no hype or preconcieved notions. And people still crap on it.

Maybe it's a bad game, but I can see people already just itching to dump on a game.

I was expecting this demo actually, might be a sleeper hit. I'm just affraid with the Jupiter engine - developers outside monolith allmost never manage to make cool games with lith-tech engines.
