Game Developers Choice Awards

A big part of the GDC event is the IDGA Game Developers choice awards, which they lovingly refer to as the Oscars of the gaming industry. It seems a few goofballs in Austin got the game of the year award, but outside of that the choices seem pretty reasonable.

It's strange that they dont have a publisher of the year award, my understanding has always been that developers and publishers tend to share very similar visions and have great synergy, why not recognize that?
