So did you guys hear about the new car checks that will be in place for airports? Soon as you get near an airport to make a flight, they're going to inspect your car for explosives and such--but the catch is that you can refuse a check and turn around. So basically, if you're a terrorist, you can say, "nah piss off dont want my truck searched" and turn around if you have explosives..nice! More bullshit feel-good security.

quick hardward question.

my roommate has a A7N8X-DELUXE motherboard, he's been running ddr333 for the past week waiting for his ddr400 to come it. it was working like a champ. he gets his ddr400 today, pops it in, and computer goes bust. it stales booting into XP and reboots.

is there something he needs to set in the bios for the new ram? bad ram? clear the cmos? (i'm a bit of a hardward n00b.)

any ideas would be much appreciated.

When I woke up I heard the staff bring in my Mom, and hearing was the only thing I could do. I think I was in an almost unconscious state for an hour or so in limbo of a functioning state. When I proceeded to sit up I immediatly began to heave, considering I had nothing in my stomach, it was disgusting pain. I went back into a horizontal position for a bit longer before I was actually able to sit up, and they replaced the gauze and placed me in a wheelchair. The whole ride home I felt nauseous, and pondered what people driving by thought of me. Balloon faced child with down syndrome perhaps? Once home I attempted eatincream of wheat], which failed miserably. I felt the tiny particles of wheat penetrating the new void in my gumline and recoiled immediatly. I'd image the pain to be equal to having cramps in my mouth. I'm a pussy to toof pain, what can I say? My Mom began to persist that I eat a modest amount in order to take the pain killervicodin]. And, so I did. As I'm typing this I'm comatosed on Vicodin, it's as if I'm in another state of mind. I'm beginning to become weary so I suppose I'll go back to hibernating until my Mom gets back from getting me Split Pea SouPea Soup Anderson's!]. fin

Okay - back from the test - and this prof is a FUCKING DICK

The format: His craptasticly old blank maps. Everything on the map is numbered and crowded together. Countries, States, Cities, Island Groups, Mountains, EVERYTHING just is numbered. Then, the answer page just has a bunch of random stuff (at least sectioned off) and it wants the # from the blank map. Here are the problems:

* Multiple dots and shit quality. Lets take Panama City for example. On the blank page he had a dot where Panama city is, another dot RIGHT NEXT TO IT, and then there is the canal. All three #s were written side by side so even if you knew which of the two DOTS it was (because I just studied general location + city name), you still couldnt get the right fucking #!

* Shit was on the map that wasnt on the list. For example, the only things in France that we were supposed to know was the Seine River and Paris. He put all kinds of other dots and shit and other rivers there. Thats just being a DICK.

* Here is the pisser. He asked where Belfast is. Umm - acording to the instructions for Map Test 1 - the only things to know in England are: London, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland. NO WHERE DOES IT SAY BELFAST ON THE INSTRUCTIONS! You mother fucking cock sucking son of a dirty uzbekistany bitch! Sure I know where Belfast is but it wasnt on the top of my brain. What other shit did he ask that wasnt specifically on the study ilst? FUCK IF I KNOW.

Probably a mid B on the test thanks to "extra credit"
I would have rather just labeled EVERYTHING I KNEW and not just a random sample. I will say Im proud of myself for knowing all the shit I knew real well - the only exception was the soviet bloc.

I go to start my car, it starts, for about 2 seconds that is. I tried giving it gas but that doesn't help at all :\ It just sputters off and dies almost instantly. I think the fuel pump is bad :\

ok so my computer problems continue, going from not working to working back to booting to BSOD.

i get a variety of BSODs, a bouquet if you will. ranging from "PAGING_IN_NONPAGE_AREA" or something to "VIDEO CARD DRIVERS SUCK"

In regards to the SUV post earlier I got a response from the guy after I asked him about smaller SUVs and I found his response quite interesting. especially for all the idiots on here who proclaim that by buying an SUV, you're endangering others 3 times more than buying a car, while the fact is, not all SUVs are the same:

our study, there were not enough of them on the road to get reliable
numbers. However, we have done a preliminary analysis of four
so-called
"cross-over" SUVs as a group: RAV4, CR-V, Lexus RX300, and Subaru
Forester, using data from 1999-01. (They are considered cross-over by
the industry as they are built on car, rather than truck, bodies.) We
find that, as a group, these cross-over SUVs have risks much lower in
both dimensions than conventional, truck-based SUVs, and are on par
with the risks we estimate for import luxury cars.

i need some help!!!
i have a new video bios update for my geforce4go and i need to install it, but i dont have a floppy drive because i left it at home because its so huge and useless- this stupid update NEEEEDS a floppy drive to write to. I have a friend copying it to a floppy and sending me the contents- is there any way that i can turn a floppy image into a bootable CD???? will i hose my video card by not using a floppy disk to update hte bios?? am i doomed??? will i never see you again because my computer will be forever crippled??? do i really need to run 40.xx drivers for that 75% performance increase? thanks
