They had virtually no competition in Korean mmorpg scene and they owe their 'success' to pure luck and dirty scheme to encourage real life item/character trading. You know what? Now here in Korea playing Lineage has turned into a full time job with real life trading in massive volume. Dirty, dirty money is what NC's ripping off from their customers.
And Richard "show me the money" Garriot doesn't seem to realize that kinda luck will eventually expire. NC introduced Everquest into Korea, which is kinda being played by less than 1,000 people. People are already complaining about Lineage 2 being a hardware hog while staying in the path of mindless hack 'n slash.
