If you're experiencing sound problems in Unreal Tournament 2003 after installing the 2186 patch, the Unreal Technology now has an older version of the sound driver which might fix those problems. Thanks GameSpy Daily.

Some customers experience lack of sound with the new OpenAL wrapper though neither Creative nor us can reproduce the problem so I decided to make the old one available for people running into issues. If you can hear sound with the 2186 patch you definitely want to keep the new one as it is faster :)

so what was the problem that the new driver introduced? is it something obvious, like lack of sound, or something I wouldn't know about, like a slight performance hit

am I better off putting in the old one regardless?
