C&C Generals Boxing

Westwood sent out this press release announcing that C&C Generals will be released in three different boxes. Each of the three boxes shows a different faction (U.S., China and the Global Liberation Army) from the game and "when placed side-by-side, the three images form a continuous modern warfare scene". There will be a limited amount of these boxes, once the initial run is sold out, EA will only sell the game in the U.S. box.

i think that the trailer was cool, it didn't show too much footage, that's true, but hell there are so many videos and screenshots of the game out, and the footage that's shown shows climatic events of the game. I like the style, and it looks professional.

That is kind of goofy. Last time i remember seeing this was WARCRAFT 3, and then before that was STARCRAFT. It kind of made sense, but this is just kind of goofy IMO.

Will people actually buy all 3 boxes for this game? Any game? I mean at ~$50 a pop, its pretty expensive to buy all 3. Its not like a magazine or something where its a few bucks. The only way I could see getting all 3 is if 2 of my friends bought it and gave me their boxes. But hell, as it is, i dont keep any game boxes. The only box i intend to keep is doom3 when it comes out.

- I do, they use DVD boxes here. If I get it I wont get the US one, thats the only difference this makes. : xenoeye
