ATTN: ALL GAINWARD TI4200 VIDEO CARD OWNERS

After much anguish I have finally found the SOLUTION for my video card problems and BF1942 and other games.

Apparantly after speaking with some guys from Gainward, there is a power compatibility problem with anyone who owns a VIA chipset specifically the KT333, and the Gainward Ti4200 64 MB Golden Sample card. Some people do not have this problem but he said there were many defective cards on the market who do not have a shelf life of over 4 months, and can go bad easily with this power problem.

Solution
Since it is a power problem, the solution is rather simple but one I never would have thought of. In your BIOS you must go in and change the VCC or Vcore power settings. Change it from normal to +5.0% or +7.0%. Try the 5.0 increase and if that doesn't work try 7.0. I left my computer running BF1942 and Quake 3 at different times for 4 hours straight without any lockups.

If you have a problem with your Gainward card, then this is the solution. I also want to thank everyone who has helped me figure out this problem along the way and listening to my meaningless babble.

Went to Jack & Busters (or something like that) yesterday..first time back in an arcade in a decade. Things have changed.

- what happen to 25 cent games :( I remeber the odd game was 50 cents..but 1 or 2 bucks was the average..wtf
- fighting games have LESS buttons...I expected to see 12+ buttons and head/foot gear
- "sniping" games are easier without using the scope :(
- It wasn't fun at all..I enjoy PC games more. That's a lie..I did hav fun on Sega's salt water fishing game thing...yep enjoyed that one.

TLDR: Jump to "Shackpoll at the end" As I drove home from the girlfriend's house my mind wondered and for some reason I thought about shack and mods. First, everything always says mail steve if you have a question. I think it would be cool if there was like a message box for mods or a way to just talk to the anon mod on duty because there are a lot of times when steve is not around etc. but then I wondered something. Would I make a good mod? (dont laugh) I decided not because I would want to be equal so every time I saw a spoiler misuse Id nuke, but I dont think Id ever want to ban someone -- also when someone calls me racist or something, Id be too ansy to just ban them forever :< So...

so all you folks with simcity 4... wanna trade cities?

we all need neighbors, and we all want a boost to our own cities. importing other cities can help if we don't wanna build dozens of little cities. i personally prefer to invest my time in one uber city...

anyway, my city is built on a large piece of land, and as far as i know only custom regions have large pieces of land so you'd have to make sure your region has large plots (you can import your city right next to it and POOF it moves the whole damn thing)
