Sims Online Shipping
by Steve Gibson, Dec 17, 2002 7:48am PSTAlthough we dont particularly cover this game much here, it is in fact the biggest selling PC gaming franchise of all time so when a significant event such as it making the move into the monthly payment online space happens, it gets a mention! Sims Online is now shipping from EA
The Sims Online carries a monthly subscription fee of $9.99 with the first month being free. A credit card is required to register and play. [...] The Sims skyrocketed to the top of the charts when it began shipping to stores in February 2000 and quickly became a universal gaming and cultural phenomenon. The Sims was the best selling PC game of both 2000 and 2001 and is now the best selling PC game of all time. Translated into 16 different languages, The Sims has inspired five expansion packs; The Sims Livin' Large, The Sims House Party, The Sims Hot Date, The Sims Vacation and The Sims Unleashed. Combined sales for the franchise have topped 20 million units life-to-date.*eyeballs all the expansion packs owned by the woman* Yeah... So anyone else think this thing is gonna just be huge? I dont even claim to understand the staying power of the game, which I thought would be a weakness for a game like this... but apparently it does.

Maybe you should be able to rape your neighbors and stuff like that. You should be able to kill, and they should put diseases in the game so you could wake up one morning and have AIDS, and know you only have a month left with this character.

The Rugmunchers (or why i will never play the sims again) :
so i start out my "family" with one member on the law enforcment track and the other on the crime track... everything is going extremely well, and i eventually get each to the top of their respective career paths. Anyone who has played the game knows how much work you have to put in to get to the top; trying to keep all those friends and finding time to go to the bathroom is pretty strenuous. The VERY NEXT DAY after becomming the CRIME BOSS and raking in a huge salary, the VERY NEXT DAMN DAY she comes home and it says your cousin has convinced you to go straight you now have a mid level business job..... i almost threw my computer out the window..

it didnt resemble 10-6 for women...
By that I mean you cant walk around
the city freely, each property is a zone and when you walk to the edge, you
dont see your neighbour, you see a grey void..
Sorry thats just bad, buy EA stock as im sure this will make a lot
of money but there is still room out there for a better game, by miles.

Maybe it's been all the expansions, but I opened up the window to buy a bed for myself and experienced Brain Overload from all the choices.
