Business 2.0 is the latest site to feature an article about Electronic Arts, the publisher giant. Written by Geoff Keighley, the article looks at EA's image, their important franchises, their reluctance when it comes to making M-rated games and more. Thanks VE.

  • When I'm rich, I'm gonna make my own publishing company. I'm gonna blow lots of bucks on getting my fav licences of all time, and then hiring the best indie dev houses to make games for them that don't suck. It will be the king of gaming.

First and formost is a remake of X-Com UFO Defense. This time with 3D and physics and candy and extra happyness. It will be the greatest video game of all time, ever. Plus, I'll try to get and finish that X-Com Squad FPS thing. It'll be included for free, cuz I'm just like that.

Once that's rolling, I turn my efforts to System Shock 3. This will be like SS2 but like 20 years later and featuring the freaking Doom3 Engine. Plus, it will include a modernized SS1 as a bonus. Not as modernized as the new X-Com game though, just higher rez and new textures and more mouse funcionality and that kind of crap.

Finally, I get a licence for Macross, or Robotech, or both or whatever, and make a Valkrie simulator. A hard-core one. I'll be like that robotech mod for Freespace2, except not as cartoonish. Plus it'll be like an order of magnitude bigger. Think Freespace2 meets Steel Batalion. It'll have it's own controller too, though that may be optional. There's two versions actually: the controller you guys buy at the store, and the custom room in my house that is my Valkrie simulater interface. Oh yeah, and it'll be MMO too, you'll be in a squadron and have to take out thousands of NPC Zentradi, it'll rule.

Then I'll be broke probibally, but it'll be worth it.
