Warcraft 3 Demo

For those of you who hadn't picked up Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos yet, the promised demo is now out. If you do have the game, the demo might still be of interest, as the included levels are exclusive to this demo, and chronicle the Orcs' journey from Lordaeron to Kalimdor. You can also play the three multiplayer levels on Battle.net. Thanks Tiscali Games.

Update: we now have Blizzard's official online version of the demo.

This is the worst RTS.. I cant believe people like this game. I played a bit of Age of Mythology yestery and even that game was worlds above warcraft. YOu want a real RTS with some serious longevity I recommend age of empires.. But, if your a simple maroon who likes arcade style rts action (arcade and rts shouldn't even be in the same sentence) then continue being oblivious.

"Magazine only."

Why to publishers continue to kid themselves about exclusives like this? Why do stupid magazines pay to have an exclusive version that is going to end up all over the web anyway. No one is going to buy the magazine just because the version on it is special or "exclusive." Anyone interested is going to download it anyway. The only people benefiting from the magazine versions are those on modems since they don't have to download 100MB.

So whats the difference between this official demo and the PC Gamer UK demo that was leaked earlier?

I've played through the unofficial demo and it works fine and is very good, but is it worth getting the official demo now?

I think Blizzard wanted to let all of the free fan-based momentum for this game wear out before they released the demo... they want this game to last as long as possible.

The best arcade-like RTS has to be "Return Fire" for the 3DO. The playstation and PC versions of "Return Fire" sucked compared to the 3DO versions.

Anyway, its nice to have an RTS that you can have your friends play. Most other RTS games have a huge learning curve.
