Space games always own me. Nothing like that feeling when you have no missiles, guns are toast, armor is at 0%, enemy on your six, and you have to decide whether to put the power 100% to rear shields and complete mission or 100% to engines attempt to outrun .. all while in the middle of a huge dogfight, turrets and cruisers shooting at you, and teammates screaming for help. now where is that Freespace2 CD :)

Its ok. Its actually kinda nice but only seems to support a res of 800x600. I'm not sure what I was supposed to be doing but I got pwned by some bases or something. I want Freespace 3

Just finished playing the demo for like an hour or so.

Initial impressions are that;

- Looks nice
- Excellent music
- Good sound effects

Bad impressions;

- I have no idea what's going on or how to do things. Like, why are things greyed out that I can't build them ?

*shrugs*

/me uninstalls.

One-sentence review: Homeworld with better graphics.

Longer review: 3D RTS in the same vein as Relic's Homeworld. Same control scheme too - to move in 3D, hit the M key to move, and then hold shift to set your ascent/descent angle. From the looks of it, it adds more in the way of production though - spying, more advanced research trees, etc. You have to admit that Homeworld didn't have much of a research system, it was just there, and only existed to slow down tech advancement multiplayer games.

If you liked Homeworld, you'll fucking love this. If you never got into HW or its followup Cataclysm, you should check this out, and grab those two while you're at it for their great story.
