XIII Screenshots

20

Ubi Soft released some new XIII screenshots today, supposedly from the Xbox version. Pretty much shows what the PC version looks like as well though, especially since the shots are 1600x1200. Check them out.

There's also this fact list which lists a few Xbox specific features such as Xbox Live! support, but most features are in the PC version as well.

I think the cell shading is growing on me, but I'd like to see it in motion first.

Very helpful. Still concerns me that they might be using the cell shading as a gimmick, I hope the gameplay can back it up.

There is an one level multiplayer demo (including a level editor (XIIIed) available on a frecn site. I can't remember the name. But I will look for it.

          Demo/Dev kit: http://www.mapxiii.com/kit.php

http://www.mapxiii.com/editmap/XIII_NES_200802.zip for the kit, and http://www.mapxiii.com/editmap/PatchKIT200802.zip for the kit patch (as far as I can figure out anyway).

I'm downloading now, will let you know if it works.

Btw, this is Unreal-engine based? I got the patch downloaded, and it's some textures I think, with the Unreal-system .utx extension.

Yapp, worked like a charm. Looks like it's actually a deathmatch "demo", and I wouldn't be suprised if it actually worked in network mode either. If you wanna give it a whirl, be sure to load the other included level (entry.unr is just a box).

Also, be sure to edit user.ini to get the settings you want.

I actually though it looked kinda nice.. real cartoon type feel to it. It's nothing I'd play hardcore or anything, but a weekend with a different type of game like this wouldn't kill me.

The kit is worth a look if you want to see it all in action.
