I havnt used an ATI card since way back in the day.. theyre drivers just suck..

shouldnt be a driver issue in the first place..

Its funny that ppl complain about these glitches, while on my old geforce on team arena you see missing graphics or lines that are diagonal. Plus when you look in the sky it looks horrible even at 32 bit mode (this maybe a glitch or just the architecture)

Well maybe I will give mine another shot now. I took it out cause BF 1942 problems even with the leaked drivers. Can someone post a link to the Det destroyer thingy-ma-bob? or just suggest where to find it google didn't hit it?

Oh look. ATI STILL can't write a driver worth a damn.

Will this help the radeon 8500 ?
or is it not an issue with that paticular card ?

I don't understand how you guys can badmouth ATI for their driver support. I was on an 8500 for awhile, and never had a single problem with it. I have gotten WAY more nv4_disp.dll crashes from nvidia drivers w/XP. Oh, and anyone remember nvidia's cards not working with a little title called GTA3?

im an nvidiot, ive had a geforce, geforce 2 (worst upgrade ever) and a geforce 4 currently ( run a ti4200 @ 300 clock 600 memory.) 149 with free shipping.. best purchase ive ever made..9700 is supposed to knock the nv25's dick in the dirt.. its a nex gen directx 9 part... dunno what is nvidias deal.. theyre late with the nv30.. wonder what the prollem is..i do kinda have a prollem with releasing new video chipsets too quickley however.. i do however think nvidias d3d drivers are apsolutley amazing.. i would chunk on a geforce 2 on a 1.2 GHz athlon box.... dropped in a geforce 4 and run it full detail @ 1024x768 mad creamy.. however it aggrivates me that I get a l33t 10 fps in amaricas army during a fire fight at any resolution or detail level.. i believe the ut engine is an unoptimized cpu limited POS...

It fixed the BF1942 demo for me, I can enable shadows now. Now I have corrupted text in UT though.

So, I install the ones that come with the card, then this patch?
