A late start today, but I'm over it. How about you? Weird problem with my PC yesterday. It was locking for about twenty seconds every few minutes all of a sudden, a few hours after a reboot. People told me the CPU might be overheating so I checked in the BIOS and it was running higher than before. However after I rebooted the problem seemed to have gone away despite the fact that I didn't change anything. However after a while the problem suddenly returned, though I wasn't doing anything intensive with the PC, just browsing around. Then I noticed when it locked, my CDRW made a faint noise. I checked Windows Explorer and sure enough my second IDE channel wasn't being seen anymore so no DVD-ROM and CD-RW. I shut down, check cables, see that nothing is wrong. I boot up again, after a few minutes my CDRW starts making horrible sounds while my PC is locked for a good thirty seconds. After a while it stops but once again, no more CD drives in Windows. I shut down again, unplug the CDRW and it's been fine ever since. Can use the DVD-ROM just fine too. I have no idea what the hell happened, but it sure is weird... Movie: Cheer up. The world's about to end in ten minutes anyway.
