Kinda). I've heard that the last few years haven't exactly been great, so I haven't bothered going after the one time I went in 1998. Has it been that long? Crazy. Any way, in Germany they are trying their own event now and there are rumors of a better event in England so maybe next year. A few weeks ago I received a review copy of Ubi Soft's Largo Winch, an action/adventure game. I doubt I will ever get around to writing a review because the game is just.. yeah. I'll have to file it under not my genre or something. Movie: If you live another day, I'll be very impressed

right click the 'now' url, and replace dl_file.x in the url with dl_file_old.x
file should be 27.7 megs. we're pretty sure the download will fail, but this is super debug mode which should log stuff.

Case in point: "The Thing" for PC by Black Label Games.
The whole game you run and gun. ok good. You DEVELOP a pattern in which the game should be played out. You become skilled at WHAT the developers have laid out for you. Then you run into "bosses" which require enitrely different tactics. I've NEVER understood this. The gamer just starts to get good and have faith in his abilities and then comes this glorified puzzle which usually occurs at the end of a level and is usually NEVER beaten the first time because there is some timing pattern invloved. Then the player has to DO THE WHOLE level again, or most of it, and then think:
"Ok everything i've learned up to this point is shit. Abosoloutly nothing i've learned about startegy means shit. The trick will probably be which pixel to stand on so the boss cant get me, or "run and hide" until the timing of the "opening" on the boss is right and then reapeat THAT tactics for 5 minutes.
It's stupid, it's jarring, and I don't know WHY they make them like this. Serves me right for buying a console port of a game. The only game tha has EVER had good bosses that require you to be profcient at the core gameplay is Max Payne.
Uninstaling "The Thing" and throwing it in my closet. Fuckin.

Do you have any friends that pronounce certain words or phrases in an odd or unusual way? Maybe the remainder of their grammar is okay but it's just that one word or phrase that makes you say "whut?"
Example: I dated a girl who pronounced the letter g at the end of ing... words like doing, being, etc. "Hey, what are you doing-guh." Heh, yeah... had nice boobs and put out though so...

With 256mb ram, BF1942 took 1min 15sec to load.
With 512mb, it took 25 seconds .
Seriously.
This is on an athlon 1.2ghz with PC133 sdram, and a Geforce 2 GTS.

Listen to this. I went to EB to pick up Mafia and I saw a box on display with the price tag $39.99 so I thought “Wow! Good deal†and I took it to the cash register. The girl (pretty hot actually) said that, that game costs $49.99. I said “Well, that’s not what it says right here gorgeous†and proudly pointed to the price tag. Then a guy (working at the store interfered) “It’s $39.99 he says, that’s all I can tell you†he said to the girl. So I bought it for $39.99.
After that, that guy explained to me that EB originally priced Mafia at $39.99 but then they found out that everybody else was selling it for $49.99 and they changed the price to $49.99 but apparently they missed some boxes or forgot about them.
The point is if you go to your local EB and find a box that says $39.99 then you’ll get Mafia for that price. The chances are slim but if you’re lucky enough you can find it.
I got so excited that I left as soon as possible and even forgot to ask that chick whether she has a boyfriend or not. Ah! Well, I got Mafia for $39.99. Woohoo!!!
Ok, I’m going to install it now and see whether it is worth it or not, anyway.

I was once, a couple of years ago at a local bar. It was definately the weirdest thing that I have EVER experienced in my life. Everything looked as it did when I was not hypnotized, but my mind was telling me to do things, and I was doing them.
For example, I was convinced that I was a video interprater for a phone sex company. It was my job to act out the acts that were being described by the girl on the stage. Here I was giving head to an imagenary cock in the middle of a stage, in front of the crowd. It didn't bother me, because it seemed liek I was supposed to be doing it.
Another thing I did, was give head to a a beer bottle between a girls legs. Again, it just seemed normal, due to the ideas that were planted in my mind.
There was lots of other stuff, too much to list here, but it was definately a cool experience. I would do it again in a second if given the opportunity.

Waiting to turn onto the highway, I was right next to an older pontiac with two gorgeous girls in it (the passenger was better though). So we turn onto the entrance ramp and they start mashing the gas like they want to stay even with me - but we have to merge into one lane. Well, I can't have that. I put my foot in it and go flying past while the turbo made its high pitched whine. They passed me later on the highway, but it was fun to burn em back when I could (though I could've on the highway but I didn't feel like risking a ticket in my dad's truck). Girls don't care about that sorta thing though...

So last couple weeks my connection has been real bad. My traceroutes are pinging int he 300s, even on the first 3 hops heh. So i call my isp and they send some guy to check the line last week. He says theres lots of line noise and makes some changes, and tells me he is gonna have a tech come out and replace something in the box on the pole. So the guy comes and does that and says everything should be fixed. But its still just as bad for the most part, id say like 20% better. So I call again and say hey its still screwed and they tell me someone is coming tomorrow to put a new line in from off the hardline. Im like fine thats cool. SO they dont come of course, and its been a week. Now they come today while im gone. I knew they were coming so i told my mom that she had to only do one thing while I was gone and not let them touch my PC. Of course she lets them. So i come back with my registry reset way back, shortcuts missing, installs not reported, email settings lost, and my connection is now WORSE than it was originally. WTF is this shit. I can understand them coming in to rune a trace route but who the fuck knows what they did. Not only do they not have any right to do that as I didnt give them permission but now my traceroutes are all over the god damn place. What the hell can I do? Any advice?
