We received word from Computer Games Online that their October issue contains a beta copy of Asheron's Call 2. You will need a login and password to play, but the magazine provides this. This is not just for subscribers, normal newsstand copies will include the beta as well.

I'll just say that if you liked AC1 or the other MMORPGs it will be worth your time finding a copy of the mag.

Maybe the first time the T&L on my graphics card got put to use.

Fuck, I live in Montana and it will be impossible to find this. :( I downloaded the AC2beta1.exe from MSN's website but heh I didn't get a login/pass so it was basically a waste of a long time.

Logging in isn't as bad now since they upped the userlimit but this game fuckin brings my system to it's knees which is not a good thing! I have a p4 1.6a@2.48 ghz, leadtek ti4600 oc'd to 320/720 and i still get shit framerates w/this thing at 1024x768 w/max details. The netcode needs a lot of work too. Oh yeah, about the magazine, if you have an EB near you then grab it there. I bought 2 copies yesterday for some friends.

I have heard people saying they couldn't log into this game for a week at a time.. and these were selected beta testers that were currently playing AC.

Good luck finding a copy. I drove around for an hour to at least a dozen different places yesterday.

They were either sold out or hadn't received it or simply don't carry it.
