So Cadbury forwarded an exchange he had with someone at Capcom, who assured him that Capcom U.S. has not announced or confirmed any final shipping price for Steel Battalion, and that they are 99% certain that it will not ship for the $250 price tag listed at Xbox.com. This will no doubt come as great news to everyone that's considering picking this one up, myself included, of course. Hopefully when a price is announced, it'll be more reasonable, ideally at or below the $160 price tag it's going for in Japan when it goes on sale next month.

GameCube GameBoy Advance Square/Nintendo Update Square spoke with Japanese magazine Famitsu about their upcoming Final Fantasy titles for GBA and GameCube. First the GBA news: Final Fantasy Tactics will not be a flat port of the PSOne original, but rather a new game in the same style. Seiken Densetsu, on the other hand will be a remake. As for the GameCube Final Fantasy Chronicle, the game will be more action-based than other FF titles, and it may even be the first game to require a GBA connection to play.
GameCube PS2 Xbox GameBoy Advance Turok Gold Good news for all of you getting ready to change your name...Turok Evolution has gone gold, and will ship on September 1st. On a related note, here are some new gameplay movies, and it was also announced that the GBA title will ship alongside its siblings on what Acclaim has dubbed "Turok bloody sunday."
GameCube PS2 Xbox GameBoy Advance PSOne Japanese System Sales Yes, it's time for the fanboys to fight again...here are the latest Japanese hardware sales. The PS2 is still very much the leader with 90,400, followed by the GBA, GameCube, WonderSwan Crystal, PSOne and trailing behind, the Xbox.
GameCube GameBoy Advance Animal Crossing == Excitebike? Here's a weird combination...apparently you'll be able to download the original NES game Excitebike to your GBA from Animal Crossing. Of course, the game will still be released on its own as part of the NES e-Card Packs, but it's still a fun little extra (although not as cool as the NiGHTS game included with the GameCube Phantasy Star Online).
GameCube GameCube Ikaruga Official It was rumored, but now it's official...Treasure's Ikaruga, one of the last games to be released for the Dreamcast in Japan, will be released for the GameCube. The title will be published worldwide by Infogrames' Atari label in early 2003.
PS2 Red Faction II Preview GameSpot has posted a new hands-on preview of Red Faction II, the PS2-only sequel to the PC and PS2 FPS.
PS2 Auto Modellista Preview Also new at GameSpot tonight are their hands-on impressions of Capcom's Auto Modellista, an online-capable cel-shaded racing game for the PS2.
Console Game of the Evening: Virtua Fighter for the Sega 32x. Crude, but still an admirable port for a really underpowered system. This was remarkably similar to the Saturn version.
