America's Army Update Plans

An email was sent announcing the newest updates to the American's Army Operations game planned for this week. The Airborne and Ranger training missions will be added, allowing you to practice proper parachute landings or train to become a Ranger. More info here. The download will be 60mb.

They can forget about it if they don't get their netcode fixed up anyway. I remember hosting a server (1.3Ghz, 512PC133, 2,3MBit SDSL) with 12 players. I was on a 100mbit switched LAN with the dedicated server, and it even lagged for ME!

Either way, I think most of us forgot about it when BF1942 came out anyway. (BF1942 + AA's ground combat) / 2 = one fucking great game..

Thing is #5, your DSL might have 2.3mb downstream, there's no way you got that bandwidth upstream. You have something in the 128-512k range, wich is okay for a couple of friends, but never enough to host a 12 players game.

Actually I was the same since BF1942 came out, but just tried AA again and there both great, better engine for AA for sure and more realistic.

BUT bf1942 is alot of fun and its arcady.

Believe me both are good for different reasons
