Ubi Soft sent out a press release announcing a second expansion pack for Ghost Recon, called Island Thunder. The expansion is set in Cuba of 2009 and The Ghosts are sent as part of a UN peacekeeping force, trying to take out rebel forces after the death of Fidel Castro. Island Thunder is due out in November. Here are five screenshots.

Game Details: - 8 new single-player missions in an all-new campaign set across the island of Cuba. - 5 new dedicated multiplayer maps. - 12 new multiplayer weapons, including the M4 SOCOM rifle and the MM-1 automatic grenade launcher. - 2 new multiplayer game types. - New Cuban enemy vehicles, new allied vehicles and insertions by helicopter
Update: a similar press release by the US division of Ubi Soft mentions a late September release date (so November is for Europe), and also mentions a price: $19.99.

I personally think, as much as a liked GR, that as a multiplayer game and map-wise, Sum of all Fears is a vastly superior game. The weapon selections are vast and varied and have all my favorites. The multiplayer coop feels like Rogue Spear is a much, much better engine with better enemy AI. I althoughs though RS had the best coop of the series and SoaF is better in alot of ways.

The single player is alot different though, and much more "on rails"...but the skirmishes in lone wolf are great and intense.
