More DOOM Stuff

QuakeCon is over with and there are some final articles on DOOM 3 and other games. You can check out GameSpy, HomeLAN Fed, Telefragged, AMDMB and SwankyGames. Here's a little bit from the HomeLAN Fed article which has a Q&A with some of the id guys.

While Doom III is in some ways a remake of id's original Doom game with the Doom maries fighting off zombies and monsters on Mars and going to Hell itself, much has been written about the fact that the game will have a slower pace than the original Doom with more of an attempt to create a scary game with only a few monsters on screen as opposed to the pure action game with tons of enemies. However, Nilsson said that players who think the game will be slow all the time might wish to think again, "Some of the monsters are faster than you are, " he said, "You will be running. They are big and they are scary. Some of the monsters will be really mean. So there will be plenty of action."
