NWO Multiplayer Beta 2

A new multiplayer beta of New World Order has been released for you guys to download on FileShack. This new beta can probably only be an improvement over the last one (story) which so many people couldnt even get to run. You're required to download a Microsoft DirectX beta patch to run the demo though which may scare some people.

Please download this patch from the Microsoft website (click here) and login with the following case sensitive ID and password: Username: DXBeta Password: DirectX9

  • Impressions (Just by myself running around on a LAN):
Graphics: Diz-am. Few things that are bothersome are; no bullet holes in glass/can't break glass, textures have that PSOne shifting prob (i think its a GF2 thing cuz my bro's GF4 128Meg doesn't do it), sparks on my GF2 are funk-e. Hell it plain chunks running around on my GF2 32MB card in 16bit 800x600. Runs beautifully on my bro's card and his 1.4Ghz tho.

Lighting: very nice for a FPS; downside is the environment lighting doesn't affect the player model =\

Models: overall, very nice. Some are plainly textured, others are nice.

Sounds: MP5 is the best sounding MP5 I've ever heard, hands down. The shells, ricochets, plinks, firing, etc are very nice.

    Networking: Couldn't tell ya...(yet)

Overall, if these guys can get another programmer onboard (1 programmer for this project is insane!), and keep fixing and updating, I'm all over this. The first beta was crap, this has come quite a ways. *I didn't install the DX patch to run around.

    Specs:
    AMD Athlon 1.2 XP
    512 DDR
    ATA66 HD
    32MB GF2 GTS
    SBLive
    WinXP
