Not happy with the speed lead they already have over AMD, Intel is speeding up the introduction of the Pentium 4 3.0Ghz CPU. The CPU should now be available by the end of the year, instead of some time in 2003.

I can't wait until AMD tries to one-up Intel, and succeeds.... and then we have a nice lowering of prices once again.

Well i was hoping for this, Technology needs to move along a little faster now due to Doom 3 ( http://www.d3files.com )out next year, we need mean machines for a low price if we really want Doom 3 running like 140 fps on comps :D

cant wait to see how much this monster is going to cost.... Sure i wouldnt mind one, but i think ill stick wiht my 0.8 GHz P3EB for a little while longer... till AGP 8x, USB 2.0, and maybe Serial ATA are all out on a nice mobo, but then ill probably buy an AMD Barton anyway...

In other words, ill wait for Doom 3 to upgrade, like everyone else ;)

isn't this old news, i heard this like a while back that they were going to introduced the 3 gighertz before this yeard ends, and we will be seeing a higher fsb in the first quarter of next year
