Looks like the long awaited Aliens versus Predator movie is finally happening. And it's actually being based on the games by Rebellion and Monolith. Heading the projecting is Paul Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil) who will write and direct. Not much else is known right now but it's probably going to be a while before we see this movie, especially since Anderson is currently working on a second Resident Evil movie. Thanks Dimmona. In other game related movie news, Columbia Pictures has announced plans for a Return to Castle Wolfenstein movie (thanks HomeLAN Fed). Again, not much info here and the news article only lists a description of the game.

  • Cool, sounds good. Too bad they won't have Arnold in it... he's a little old now, but Predator is easily one of his best films ever. They should at least get Jesse Ventura, and bring him back as another marine with a Minigun... I mean... that was one of the most bad-ass scenes in Predator. Just the notion that a special forces team has some huge buff dude with minigun makes the movie almost worth seeing on principle alone.

Resident Evil was pretty decent... the laser room scene was great ;) It had violence, guns, gore and scary monsters... not much else you could expect from a game that was about the same thing. I think RE had a created a good environment for it to be scary... crazy computers... blood hungry monsters... I definately felt like it would totally suck to be in their situation :P

If the director can succeed in also capturing Aliens' scary, eerie, "I'm being hunted" feel... I think AvP The Movie will kick ass. I think most definately it's going to be done from the human's perspective. And then maybe they'll have to cooperate with the Predator(s) toward the end or something to survive.

    Anyway, hope it's bad-ass.
