So after a remarkably helpful conversation with someone in Time Warner Cable's national Road Runner tech support office (it turns out the problem was on their end, not mine), I am finally back online on my desktop PC. My server's still out of commission, although I figured out what happened. At some point during the last two years that I left it running, the fan died on the case. As a result, the thing fried. The motherboard, processor and hard drive are all completely dead. This time around, I'm not taking any chances. I bought a case with four fans, and this thing's gonna be cooler than anyplace else in my apartment come August. Anyway, on to the news!

GameCube No Sonic CD in Sonic Mega Collection Sorry Sonic fans, it's been revealed that the much-loved (if little seen) Sonic CD will not be included in the upcoming Sonic Mega Collection for the GameCube. Instead you'll get such memorable titles as Sonic 3D Blast and the silly Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, which like Super Mario 2 is a completely different game that was given a Sonic tie-in when it was released in this country.
GameCube PS2 Xbox GameBoy Advance New River City Ransom underway? Now here's a blast from the past...apparently there may be a new River City Ransom remake in the works by the developers of the original game. No specific system is named, so it could be the GBA or any one of the current crop of home systems.
Xbox Dead to Rights Preview GameSpot has posted their hands-on look at Dead to Rights. The version of the game they were able to play is more recent than the one shown at E3, and specifically they talk about a previously unseen level of the game.
GameCube GameBoy Advance Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 0 Shots Also at GameSpot are new shots from Super Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil 0 and Super Ghouls n' Ghosts.
GameBoy Advance Final Fantasy I & II for GBA? According to Gameforms, the latest issue of the Japanese mag Weekly Famitsu has a teaser for a new version of Final Fantasy I & II. No system is named specifically, but since both have long been out for the WonderSwan in Japan, it's safe to assume it'll be the GBA (or possibly the PSOne).
Xbox Tao Feng Interview, Shots Planet Xbox has conducted an interview with John Tobias, one of the original Mortal Kombat creators, and currently head of Studio Gigante. John discusses his new Xbox fighter Tao Feng, and there are some new screenshots accompanying the interview.
Xbox Crazy Taxi 3 Movies Also at Planet Xbox are links to new Crazy Taxi 3 movies that were posted by Hitmaker, the developers of the game.
PS2 Suikoden III News It has been revealed that Suikoden III will allow you to import your save file from Suikoden II. As far as I know, this is the first time a PS2 title has accessed a PSOne save file for anything. On a related note, a new preview of the game is up at PS2.IGN, based on their impressions of the Japanese version of the game (which just came out).
Console Game of the Evening: Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. This game wasn't bad, but the more I thought about it, the less I liked it. I think I was mainly disappointed that this wasn't the sort of step up that Mario 64 was for its franchise.
