The Y-Project Screenshots

The official Y-Project website has been updated with six new screenshots from this Unreal engine powered first person shooter. Also, the PC Games.de site has a brief teaser clip from a larger video they are offering on their coverdisk. It does show some ingame footage. Thanks Blues News.

What was that organic looking game that had a walk around style demo (no real gameplay) for the geforce1 way back? It looked kinda like this.. Set on some alien island or something. Sure did look pretty. Guess it never happened... What a surprise...

Listen, games are not worth making anymore. All the good games have been made. Someone could spend a lifetime trying to play all the games that are ALREADY out there, what's the point of adding more?

this is the game where all the enemies are bugs, right?

i wonder what made them decide to take one of the most reviled aspects of fps gameplay (pest control levels. see daikatana and the first section of FAKK2 [which i really liked otherwise] for reference) and make an entire game out of it.

nice looking screens though.

Damn, the more I see of this engine the more excited (and frustrated) I get thinking of what it is capable of. There could be some kickass FPS's made with this engine, if a little fresh artistry is employed.

Random tidbit. Anyone notice that yesterdays More Views news item had 5 bullets, and 4 of which had to do with games running on the Unreal engine. Like I said random tidbit.

But it shows that in between Quake3 and Doom3, Unreal is the engine to use.
