Movie Time!

Everyone I talked to back in the states that saw the PPG movie said it was pretty good but I have no idea when that will be out down here.

Mexico release dates are just weird. All the movies are in english with subs and some are out with out subs. Ep II just opened down here two weeks ago. IMDB doesnt even list mexico in its opening times. Lilo and Stitch opened same time as it did in the states w/o subs and is now showing with subs, but Minority Report isnt out here and MiB opens later this week. Aparently Mexico DF gets movies at the same time as the states w/o subs, and then later with subs if its popular at most theaters. Es horrible!

MIB2 = Total shit. But people will see it due to the name, marketing and popularity of the first one. Trust me. Skip it. Tell your friends. I kept 90% of our office away from it.

Lilo & Stitch = Rock. Totally unexpected coolness.

Mr. Deeds = Pretty good. One of Sandler's best. You either like him and his movies or not. If you like his other stuff, this is good. If you don't like his other movies, stay away.

Minority Report = Rock. Hasn't everyone seen this already?

Ugh..Wasn't there a proposed sequel to Independence Day that they were trying to hock to Will Smith as well? I don't know how they would do it, or how they would remotely pull it off, but I remember the premier of the movie, and the rumor of one already in the works before the first was even released.

Minority Report is the most amazing movie I've seen in a LONG while. I hope it gets best picture or something.

MIB2, crap. Boring boring boring; I was looking at my watch after 2 minutes. I would have left if it wasn't for the fact that I was with a group.

Lilo And Stitch. Fantastic, all the way around. Definately going to see it again.

I thought MIB2 was very childish and Smith was trying to be too cool. It was too much of a contrast from the original rookie character.
I did however laugh my ass off on various occasions, especially with that first locker scene

* Long time dead: UK-horror. Very suspensefull.

* Jeepers Creepers: i still whistle that tune every now and then to completely freak out my girlfriend, hehehehe.

Haven't/Don't Plan on MIB2, but I can say Lilo and Stich (saw it w/the GF/family) was a great movie. Heartily recomended to anyone who wants a little bit of not suck/feel good stuff. CG is nice, but I hope Disney/whoever keeps coming out w/the occasional handpainted movie.

I totally agree with the assesment of MIB2. It had the occasional good one liner, but on the whole it was typical Hollywood rehash. I don't know about you guys, but I am getting tired of Hollywood (and other media) treating me as the lowest common denominator.

Saw The Bourne Identity last night. Really enjoyed it. Never would have though Matt Damon could pull off the whole action hero thing, but it was a VERY well choreographed movie.

Looking forward to Road to Perdition, Eight Legged Freaks, and Signs.

Watched I Am Sam on DVD recently and I have to say it was a really great movie IMO.

I'm guessing not many here will have liked it, but I thought I'd share anyway:)

I saw "the Others" on DVD this week. Good horror flick :)

The theatre by my house charges $14 for one adult ticket...oh, but they have ushers in the theatre who will show you to your seat :)

I heard MIB2 was a good movie. Crankycritic gave it a perfect rating.

I finally saw Frailty yesterday. Meh. It's okay. Nothing too spectacular, just an average supernatural slasher.

Between the so-so reviews online and the crappy theaters in this town, I'm going to see MIB2 (MIIB, ugh) when it hits video. Unless my cousins make me see it :)

Amelie should be coming out on DVD/Video this tuesday. If you have not yet seen it, go get it on tuesday when you get your Royal Tenenbaums Criterion DVD. I have been waiting for these two movies to come out on DVD for a while.

I just saw a movie called "The Fast Runner" about Inuits above the Arctic Circle. Might be playing in your local art house theatre. It's worth checking out.

I just got back from MIB2 and it didn't think it was that bad. There were enough funny scenes to keep me entertained although johnny knoxville was a tard.

ehh imo it wasn't good, but it wasn't terrible and entertaining enough to make me not upset about spending money on it.

I havent been to see ANY movies in 2 months.

I saw quite a few movies these last few weeks. My thoughts are mixed, and will give my short thoughts on 'em. No spoilers here.

Minority Report:
MR Deilvers in so many ways. It's action scenes were a bit predictable, but they were very entertaining. Drama kept the audience thinking in suspense. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, but he was rather pleasent on-screen, everyone else did fine. Everything seemed to bind together well, and I would definitely say this is one of those must see movies. Just don't go in suspecting so much from a movie, just take everything as it is.

Mr. Deeds:
I'm a fan of Adam's early films, but his recent ones has left my mouth dry. This one is a mix. The comedy is there, but most of the time it doesn't deliver. There are 1 or 2 classic scenes which really made me want to roll on the floor laughing. The whole romance part of the movie wasen't capturing, but it wasen't the worst. Some people expected too much from this movie, and were dissapointed. It's a decent movie within itself, and deserves a viewing. If your into Adam's comedy, I would definitely head out to the movies, if not wait for the video.

The Sum of all Fears:
I have some really great and terrible things to say about this movie. When the action was there, the movie was amazing. The good parts of the movie were GREAT... Though there are way too many fustrations between the good parts. The Love/Romance scenes were TERRIBLE, the movie itself was long enough, but I could have done without the love scenes. It was sad because they tried to make the love scenes serious, but I had to stop eating my popcorn, because "love" was making me sick. The movie tried to explain too many things, and a lot of useless information was thrown at the audience. I didn't like Ben in this movie, but Morgan was up to par. I would suggest not seeing this movie, as it left me more fustrated and a feeling of waste time.

The Power Puff Girls Movie(PPG)
It wasen't my idea to see this movie, but a promise is a promise. I was hoping for a mix between child jokes and some jokes thrown in for mature people, and boy, was I surprised. The warm-up flick was based on Dextor's Labratory, and it was just great. Made my little sister and I laugh a few times, and that wouldn't be the last time I would laugh. The whole movie was filled with jokes for children and adults, and they were very cunning jokes. Rather brilliant movie. The time was perfect, it was short, and I think it's good to have this kind of a movie short because I could have got sick of the PPG real fast. There was a bit too much explination, and the start of the movie was slow. It's my only gripe about PPG. I would definitely tell others to see it, but ONLY at a late-showing. It's terrible when a couple with really young kids sits next to you. They were explaining almost every scene to their kids, and all of them laughed at the dumbest things. O well, it's my fault going to a early showing :P.

i have only seen minority report and the bourne identity in the last few and i liked both of them very much. i lie. i also saw cinema paradiso with the extra footagfe and i liked it very very much. one of those movies that makes you ythink about what is important in life. of all the previews i have seen lately i think i want to watch the matrix 2 most of all. daredevil looked interesting but i have never read the comics so i know nothing of this story.

I'm just waiting for Jackass: The Movie to come out. I've heard that it's due out early August (IMDB says it's in post-production, as of June 3rd) -- sounds like it's gonna be a 1.5hr episode, but I'll be damned if that isn't good enough for me.

I heard not-so-good things about the Powerpuff Girls movie. Which sucks, cuz I think Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartakovsky are geniuses. Plus, they've been showing sizable portions of it as commercials on Cartoon Network.......... kind of annoying when they do that, sorta like how (it sounds like) they did with MIB2.

Oh, and I'm arachniphobic, so of course I have to go see "Eight Legged Freaks". "Arachniphobia" scared the crap out of me, and that was with super-intelligent, REGULAR-sized spiders.

I just saw Bad Company. It was...meh...OK. Funny but not 10 bucks funny. Wait for video.
Next I wanna see Insomnia. Actually I can't wait to see that one.

BTW.. Who all saw that cool little short before MIB2? That was pretty cool. Also, what did you think of the T3 trailer?

I liked MIB2. Don't give two shits what you guys thought and it is the #1 movie right now.......... I guess I'm saying suck it. :)

Power Puff Girls movie kicks ass. Nonstop action and destruction.

Just saw CQ. It sucked ass and a complete yawnfest. I hate movies about aspiring directors. Please. Keep your little nepotistic attitude amongst yourselves, hollywood.

yeah i was also very disappointed in MIB2. being that the film was only 87 minutes long is like a kick in the face to me. to me, films should be about 2 hours, just feels better. 87 minutes just feels like there was a whole lot lacking in the script/plot department even before i saw the movie. and yeah, it felt like a real cheapened movie to me. alot of stupids gags and silly dumb jokes. the part where he looks up the deneuralizer on ebay, that is just TOO far over the top i thought. although it was not horrible, no where near the calibar of the first one!

A story is only as good as its villian.

PERFECT overview of MIB2, Jack. Exactly my feelings. They COMPLETELY fucked up by not focusing on the chemistry of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Was just ludicris they dropped the ball on this. All they needed to do was make it exactly like the first one and I'd have been satisfied, but instead they tried to play on the cartoon animal humor and it was just a huge let down.

I think Jack should of seen the Powerpuff Girls movie instead.

Ok... Next weekend is Road to Perdition, should be another great Hanks movie.. The weekend after is K19 and followed by Austin Powers 3 and then Signs... Theres your four weekends of movies to see.
