by Steve Gibson, Jun 26, 2002 6:00pm PDTFor some added fun and perhaps a small performance boost I bought myself a SDSL router off of eBay today and picked it up from the guy who just lived all of 10 miles from here. The line I've got here is just under spec for 1.1/1.1 but according to a tech I talked to a snazzy router can help bump that tolerance up just a bit. I figure what the heck for $30 on eBay, and plus I havent had the fun of configuring a router in a while. I know a few people who have considered doing stuff like this, so assuming I can get things up and running tonight I'll post my results in a day or two after I get the line re-tested. Ok, here's the evening stories:

In MySQL I can specify integer lenghts for my Datatypes like this:
create table scores (
call_number int(5) NOT NULL,
course_number varchar(8) NOT NULL,
course_title varchar(128),
instructor varchar(96),
enrolled int(2));
I'm getting all kinds of PARSE ERRORS when I try to do the same thing (and similar stuff) in PostgreSQL. Any ideas?
Also, is there a simple list of Postgres datatypes other than this huge mess?

In addition, this patch eliminates three new vulnerabilities one of which has been rated as critical severity, one of moderate severity, and one of low severity.
An information disclosure vulnerability relating to how Windows Media Player handles licensing processing with secure media files that could enable an attacker to run a program on the user's system. This issue has been rated as critical severity.

So anyway, how far am I through the game? 1/3? 1/2? My guess is about 1/3, but it seems like I've played a lot. I'm getting really good with PSI and the Pistol, too, and I'm beefing up my Hacking skills. I love how you can totally customize your character, 100's of different ways.
