OpFlashpoint: Resistance On Friday

this game fuckin rules multiplayer. we play it in the dorms all hours of the day and night. It was fuckin hilarious one night at like 2 am we are playing with the guys across the hall to take out a huge fuckin russian convoy of tanks and troops and we're yellin shit like "Plant the claymores on the ridge!!! " the RA came to yell at us then ended up playing along with us for hours. It may not be good for fans of a quick death match but as far as team play goes (it even has voice over ip software) its virtually impossible to beat. The # of user made mods is amazing as well. You can find uniforms and weapons for vurtually any army/unit on the planet now and can setup limitless scenarios in a latter of minutes. the mission bulider is hard to beat. It lacks a level builder but when the 'levels' are hundreds and hundreds of miles across it dosnt really matter. Tho that hasn't stopped people from converting existing maps into desert (for afganitan) and jungle (vietnam). If you havn't played this game coop your missing out on a lot of fun.

This game is/was the perfect example of gameplay over graphics anyhow.

Go anywhere, do anything, easy scenario builder... I will be picking this up.

The only weak point of this game, if you can even call it a weak point, is the weird weapon aiming setup... I mean you can get used to it, but it's just so.... weird.

In my all FPS games, I play with mouse reversing on (flight sim style). This is the only game where I play it off, because the aiming is more like moving a mouse cursor, than a crosshair.

its too bad alot of the people that dont like this game, dont like it mainly for multiplayer reasons.

its such a fantastic single player game...

games like this, ghost recon, and others, sometimes makes me glad I'm not spoiled with the ability to buy games simply for multiplayer access.

I just want to know one thing - can I now save as often and as much as I want?

I will wait to review the reviews about the improved netcode. The originl netcode was horrible. I hope they fix rewrite the multiplayer interface as well.

and the cool thing about those screenshots - in the second one, someone could be prone on that hill in the distance and snipe the guy who took the picture. Pretty easily too, if you're good at judging the bullet drop at about 600 meters, being 100 meters above your target.

For some reason I could never get into this game.

Everything in it felt lagged somehow, not sure why.

this is one of the best co-op games i have ever played.

I want to play this game multiplayer. Fix the mutliplayer engine and get back to me.

LAN doesnt count

this is the most underrated game of 2001. I've never had more fun on a LAN than trying to take a french village and rescue some hostages with some chums.

i can't see a difference, then again i never did get around to playing the original.

that does look a bit nicer.
