Call of Cthulhu Update
by Maarten Goldstein, Jun 20, 2002 7:15am PDTRight after E3 Jason reported about the state of Call of Cthulhu, an often delayed horror adventure game. Developer Headfirst Productions has now sent out a publisher related update on the game.
The publishing contract between Ravensburger Interactive and Headfirst Productions Limited for the development and publication of "Call of Cthulhu : Dark Corners of the Earth" has been terminated by Headfirst Productions Limited for breach of contract by Ravensburger Interactive. The game's development continues unabated and is now scheduled for release early in 2003. A further statement will be issued when a new publisher for this title has been foundPublishing enquiries should be sent to Mike Woodroffe.

Quake1 has lots of Lovecraftian influences in the creature design, but Cthulhu itself wasn't in it. The creature of the first level resembled a Nightgaunt, the final boss looked like a Dark-Young (and was called Shub-Niggurath, another creation of Lovecraft)

Anyone know whatever happened to that game that was an update from an Amiga game which had a quad-split screen and was turn-based? I think it was called Hired Guns or something...
