you are such an anus. I have a PII350 192meg SDRAM and 2 Voodoo2 cards SLI that I can run games on that aren\'t even out yet, like Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament and run quit good I might add. So don\'t tell me rig is outdated. The fact of the matter is if the majority of people *had* newer generation cards, LARGE, SMART companies like id and epic would make the move that Mercenary did. Mercenary quite simply made a stupid move PERIOD.

You know what? Sell your PC and buy a console. If you really want people to keep making games for years-old systems, that\'s a bonafide way to see it happen.

Nocturne runs fine on most video cards - just not Voodoo 2s. And guess what? It\'s not a performance problem, if you\'d bothered to read up... it\'s an inherent lack of a blit routine in your card. Banshees will be able to run the game accelerated; so will Voodoo 3s.

\"The majority\" doesn\'t necessarily own Voodoo 2 boards (since when did you have actual statistics? Hmm... never?), so I wouldn\'t presume anything - except that Nocturne will sell well.

I say blow me postal. You\'re missing the point these gaming companies are too busy striving to make the games that fit for future systems when they can make awesome games for the hardware thats out now. Not everyone is made of money like you and can just go out and get a new video card to make the game look good. They should be making a game that is compatible with what the majority owns. My prediction is this game will sell squat.

Colon, I personally think that\'s pretty immature. They can\'t spend eternity making sure that everyone and their grandmother can run games. Nocturne\'s engine is radically different from most others - they can\'t just say \"sorry about your V2 card not running the game... we\'ll just rewrite the whole game engine for you.\"

Besides, as was said, the game WILL run fairly decently (although obviously not perfectly) in software mode for you.

Hehe yea I posted from FS forum. I\'m the one who couldn\'t get nocturne to work in Win2k. Darn demo/darn beta os.

you know what really blows? I\'ve been waiting for this game for quite some time, hyping it up whenever I could, and now you a-holes are telling me that I have to get a new video card to play it. I\'m willing to bet that over 60% of gamers still own a VooDoo2 card, swift move guys. I can play graphically superior games like Quake3 or Unreal Tournament with my rig but not your low action graphically challenged game. Yes I\'m pissed. Why is it that you damn game companies have to continually try and beat the competition by loading up a game that will only run on a $3000 rig when you can make a great game on a lesser system. I made the post yesterday about DX7 not being supported. I thought that was the case because you only have the choice of DX5 or DX6 on startup, then after starting the first level it quit with an error message like \"Z bit failed - DX6\". It turns out that Nocturne demo has a problem running on Voodoo2/3/Banshee cards that will only be fixed when new drivers are released by 3DFX. Saw that on blues.
