AOM Public Beta

Got an email from Ensemble Studios saying they will announce plans for a 10,000 player beta of Age of Mythology on Monday. Ensemble's 3D RTS is due out later this year.

Sucks for ES that Blizzard was actually on schedule for once. I'm sure Ensemble was betting the typical 2 years of Blizzard delays was going to allow them to get their product to the shelf first... Of course the game will still fly off shelves, but wc3's recent release will surely put at least a small dent in their sales. Oh well. GL dC...

  I didn't think this game was even really competing with WCIII due to WCIII's RPG elements. Or did Blizz... : Dechter

kickass! i got into a discussion with a friend about empire earth vs. age of empires 2, and we both agreed that aoe2 still did a lot of things better than EE. can't wait to see what ensemble has up their sleeve.

Age of Empires II was the first game that I really got into, like playing for hours and hours. My boyfriend had this friend who noone could beat at AoE and I made it my mission to get good anough to beat him. So finally after a couple months of practice we played and I kicked his ass (Ha, take that! Owned by a chick!). Good game, though.

Anyhow, needless to say I have been waiting eagerly for Age of Mythology since I first heard about it. Can't wait to sign up for the beta test.
