The first one kicked ass, although I thought the map mode was kind of weak. You always ended up having a bunch of half ass heroes and one badass one that if you lost him you were totally fucked. They should have added something to make the tactics of taking over the map more strategic...

The fights were cool stuff though and the art/animation were both pretty amazing imo.
