Why do they keep talking about Deus Ex 2 so much and say nothing about Thief, which has much more potential to be a kick-ass game?

Seeing as how Deus Ex 2 is still at least a year away, I hate to see the hype machine cue up now. I generally avoid interviews and previews of games I'm interested in anyway, as they tend to spoil the surprise of seeing the game freshly purchased, but I still hate to see a full year of interviews and what-not.
