Yes, they even ask him about Team Fortress 2 and it's not dead ("We'll start showing it again once it gets to a certain point, and we're now getting very close to that point"). This game LOOKED cool years ago, problem with a game with such cool features is that in the long run, it's still going to be spoilt by people who don't play as a team (LET ALONE the 14 y/o smartasses or the cheaters)

You can have people with a good genuine intent, but if they don't know how to play, they just spoil the game by not working together.

This is common in ALL multi games, rarely do I find someone else who plays AS A TEAM :(
Carnivac and I used to play AQ2 and work as a team cause it works well - I covered his back, he covered mine, fuck it was good - so damn movie like - both storming in as a TEAM - gives a great feeling.

Its about time they said something. Doug said they were looking forward to "showing off the game (TF2) in the coming months" -- this was last December. I fully expected to see something or hear something at e3, but of course we got nothing.

Then, finally some site was smart enough to ask the questions that really mattered (not that they were answered very thoroughly).

I wonder if Valve doesn't want to steal Condition Zero's thunder? In that case, we'll have to wait until CZ is released, sometime in August before we get a chance for a TF2 update.

Lombardi: I think so. I hope so. We hold our quality bars up really high, so I think it's going to be exciting - it's certainly exciting for us. We're really anxious to start showing it to folks.

This is so much better than the "WE'RE GOING TO MAKE YOU OUR BITCH" kind of hype we saw from Daikatana and Global Operations. It's a much more human way to approach their audience.

Looks like Valve's gonna be like 3DRealms and be another one-hit wonder. Too bad, too. It's too hard to play "catch-up-to-today's-standards" like these teams are doing (in regards to the engine, game design, etc). Either stay ahead, or get out, and save your fans some grief.

Will people actually care about this game, or has Counterstrike stolen its market? When I first saw screenies of the tech it looked cool, but now it's fairly obsolete. If they're just getting to the point where they can release information about it, I don't have much hope.
