Sum of All Fears Demo

I'm sorry, I just can't get excited about a FPS that doesn't show the weapon model. Makes it feel like I'm firing from my hip or something. Cool weapons are what FPS's are all about. I love the detail of the weapons in SOF2, and the weapon models in Stalker look even better. What's the secuse for not having the models in the game? Are the modlers just lazy?

does this use the rainbow six engine or something?

this is an absolute self-ripoff or Red Storm forgot the fact that they already created Ghost Recon. The menu system is right from GR, except the color of layout. The graphics are right from GR, except that almost all the missions happen indoors(the demo is a good example, I think).

Both games suck at weapon sounds. Both games support in-game saves. Both games(and all the RS titles) don't show guns in hand on the game screen. In GR player gets up to 6 members. In SOAF there're 3 A.I. teammates whom the player can do almost nothing about.

I don't think the success of the film(will it?) will make this one a hit. Maybe I'm wrong and every other gamers are fans of RS style games which I'm so not. But aren't we sick of this already?

GR must be cheaper now in every shelves around the world. Get that or try both demos of GR and SOAF.

Well, that concludes my biannual "Give Tom Clancy Games a Chance" session.

Conclusion: They still aren't fun.

Will the game follow the movie or the book?

The game does appear to be using a new (or at least updated GR) engine. I've seen a good bit of it, and it looks really good (graphics). I can't speak to the game play since I haven't sat down with it yet.
