First Post!
by Maarten Goldstein, May 11, 2002 8:40am PDTQuite a few file releases yesterday. The only thing I downloaded was the Jedi Knight 2 demo as I wanted to see how it turned out (I never did pick up the full version). I had already seen the level at E3 and QuakeCon, but it was nice to actually play it myself this time. Pretty nice, although rather brief. I'll pick up the full version eventually, though I'd rather get Soldier of Fortune 2 first. OverBurN wanted me to mention how cool Transformers are so eh..there you go.

We got talking about the whole eBay situation. Them japanese mofos are obviously making loads of money from us desperate Swedos with nowhere else to turn than the net for purchasing CDs and random crap with japanese symbols on them. There is a demand for this stuff and they are taking advantage of it and turning it into solid profit. They can do it because the live in Japan and everyone (well, almost) else wishes they did too.
A question arose. Can't we turn the tables around and do the same thing ourselves, sell Swedish-branded wooden horses and shit and make profit off of it? Maybe not wooden horses though, and that's the beginning of the problem. WTF does Sweden produce that anyone cares about? We can't export our bodacious blondes unfortunately. There's some good music coming out of this country but it's all sung in English and sold internationally. If it isn't then the demand isn't there anyways. There are some sweet castles over here but I think the shipping costs would cancel any optimism in that area.
There is something Swedish that everyone wants however. Something that would work. Swedish porn motherfuckers!

Most don't know it, but Spartacus was directed by Stanley Kubrick. The reason people are in the dark is probably because the movie looks more like one of Cecil B. DeMille's Bible epics than anything else Kubrick shot. Spartacus was Kubrick's first and last big-budget production, because he felt he had to give up too much control to make it.

I don't think any instructions came with my grill. It says "tool-less" assembly but there's too many parts for no instructions.
