Morning Console News
by Maarten Goldstein, May 11, 2002 8:28am PDTSome special weekend console news while you wait for LNC to return on Monday. Back in March we heard about Sega creating a new F-Zero game, and earlier this week Namco announced that they were working together with Nintendo on a new Star Fox game. Planet GameCube has found out that Capcom is also working on a remake of a Nintendo game, the SNES hit A Link to the Past. They will be remaking this game for the Game Boy Advance. In other console news, the Afterburner light kit for the Game Boy Advance is now shipping (formerly these guys were know as Portable Monopoly). However if you didn't order one already, you will have to wait until Tuesday when their online store should go back up.

1] A range of high quality titles are in production, which are almost guarenteed to sell well. Freeing up nintendo's very own talent to focus on other things. More games like pikmin? Yes please.
2] Nintendo makes a much welcomed return to the arcades. The arcades are a useful and important way to test new game ideas.
3] And most important of all nintendo manages to involve important third parties in the gamecube system. What better way to interest them, and teach them how to develop for the system, than with a prime franchise? And once they've developed one hit title for the system, whats the bets capcom and especially namco will be releasing more unique software of their own on the GC?
Its a pretty clever plan really.

One of the best SNES games. The GBA lineup is getting mighty tasty. Sure, they're mostly games we've already played, but they're still better than most of what's on the xbox/gc/ps2.
i see a gba in my future!
