No GTA3 MP?
by Maarten Goldstein, Apr 19, 2002 8:04am PDTThe guys at ToTheGame managed to get their hands on a fact sheet for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 3. Unlike what was mentioned in the April PC Gamer, the fact sheet does not have any mention of a multiplayer mode for the PC version. This might dissapoint some, but others who've actually seen/played the PS2 version know this game is the bomb even with no multiplayer options. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto 3 should be out in May.

I can't imagine how they would fit multiplayer into the game without it being stupid...
I played about 10 minutes of the single player.. that was enough for me to enjoy the novelty of it and make me want to play multi. No multi? No sale.
The real shame is that the original PC version was just so much damn fun in multi..

I'll pick it up anyway being the ps2 version was choppy to the point of motion sickness for me. My PC will run this game well and it'll look much better so it's worth the wait and money spent.

The first two GTA's were great because they were perfect in that you COULD play this game for 5 minutes if you had a little free time, or you could play it for HOURS and try to make some progress. Very few single-player games provide this type of experience, you usually have to go multiplayer for some instant gratification.
I'll still buy it, and I'm sure I'll still love it. Task #2: get the wife playing it. One day I will find a game that we both like...
Bottom line I wish they'd just make a damn official statement and put all this to rest...
