No GTA3 MP?

The guys at ToTheGame managed to get their hands on a fact sheet for the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 3. Unlike what was mentioned in the April PC Gamer, the fact sheet does not have any mention of a multiplayer mode for the PC version. This might dissapoint some, but others who've actually seen/played the PS2 version know this game is the bomb even with no multiplayer options. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto 3 should be out in May.

  • Some of us haven't had the chance to play this single-player yet, so the loss of MP being that I don't have SP is not that big of an issue.

The first two GTA's were great because they were perfect in that you COULD play this game for 5 minutes if you had a little free time, or you could play it for HOURS and try to make some progress. Very few single-player games provide this type of experience, you usually have to go multiplayer for some instant gratification.

I'll still buy it, and I'm sure I'll still love it. Task #2: get the wife playing it. One day I will find a game that we both like...

  • Curious on how the Developer / Publisher relationship works?? Or can it be different for each deal? Started thinking that maybe over all the hype and excitement building up over the PC release and the thought of being able to do a little car jacking and creating mayhem with some of your friends, that the Publisher saw dollar signs and decided to pull MP Support and make it a separate game in itself?? Or is this a Developer call only?? Either way they could have just gotten a bit greedy and said this could be expansion pack material or stand alone.

Bottom line I wish they'd just make a damn official statement and put all this to rest...
