Damn.. I was excited about this game. Oh well.

I played about 10 minutes of the single player.. that was enough for me to enjoy the novelty of it and make me want to play multi. No multi? No sale.

The real shame is that the original PC version was just so much damn fun in multi..

They pick you up to throw you down. It's probably just part of the hype machine. Dont count MP out yet.

I'll pick it up anyway being the ps2 version was choppy to the point of motion sickness for me. My PC will run this game well and it'll look much better so it's worth the wait and money spent.

well i played enough of the game on my friends ps2 to quench my thirst - the game gets annoying towards the end - so im afraid to say no multiplayer will probably mean no sale for a lot of people, myself included :(

What I don't like about games that are just single player and no multiplayer is that once you play it and beat it, you can't do anything else. At least with Quake 1/2 you had multiplayer. Hrmmm, I'll have to consider buying this then. I'm sure it's loads of fun, but I expect every game nowadays to have multiplayer, that's why we pay $$$ for our broadband.

Some of you act like you just read the title of the story and didn't bother to read the actual article. There is no mention of multiplayer but its like the exact samething from the PS2 not to mention not really indepth or complete. Gta1, GtaLondon, and Gta2 all had multiplayer, so will this one.

Some of us haven't had the chance to play this single-player yet, so the loss of MP being that I don't have SP is not that big of an issue.

The first two GTA's were great because they were perfect in that you COULD play this game for 5 minutes if you had a little free time, or you could play it for HOURS and try to make some progress. Very few single-player games provide this type of experience, you usually have to go multiplayer for some instant gratification.

I'll still buy it, and I'm sure I'll still love it. Task #2: get the wife playing it. One day I will find a game that we both like...

Curious on how the Developer / Publisher relationship works?? Or can it be different for each deal? Started thinking that maybe over all the hype and excitement building up over the PC release and the thought of being able to do a little car jacking and creating mayhem with some of your friends, that the Publisher saw dollar signs and decided to pull MP Support and make it a separate game in itself?? Or is this a Developer call only?? Either way they could have just gotten a bit greedy and said this could be expansion pack material or stand alone.

Bottom line I wish they'd just make a damn official statement and put all this to rest...

Regardless of whether they include MP or not (although it would be nice) I think it's still a worthy purchase. While I have the game for my PS2, having the game for my PC will offer me one big bonus: a mod scene. People will be coming up with new skins, models, cars, weapons, hell, entire cities and missions if Rockstar does the right thing and encourages mod development.

Still very excited to have this one the PC.
