What the hell game was the tester playing? There were numerous levels that you HAD to kill or disable someone otherwise you ended up getting swarmed or mission objectives could not be met (Hallways, with multiple guards and cameras could not be traversed). I tried playing the game without killing (just knocking people unconscious) and at one point it became impossible.
Aside from 1 or 2 levels, at least Thief 1 and 2 can be played without even blackjacking anyone.
